On April 22nd and 23rd 2024 the GenAI Erasmus+ Project took place in Poznan, Poland. This pivotal gathering brought together a dynamic consortium, setting the stage for a transformative impact on how Gen Z engages with Generative AI technologies.
The GenAI project, spearheaded by the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PCSS) in Poland and partnered by YET and 100 Mentors from Greece, Helixconnect Europe from Romania, and IRIS Sustainable Development from Sweden, is dedicated to equipping Generation Z with the essential skills to harness Generative AI. The initiative aims to enhance their academic, professional, and personal lives by integrating cutting-edge AI tools into everyday practices.
Held in the historic city of Poznan, the meeting laid the groundwork for the project’s ambitious goals. Over two days, partners delved into detailed discussions on several key work packages (WPs), each designed to tackle different aspects of the project:
WP1: Project Management; Ensuring smooth coordination and effective management across all project activities.
WP2: Exploratory Research and Needs Assessment; Identifying the specific needs of Gen Z in relation to Generative AI to tailor the project’s outputs effectively.
WP3: Development of Innovative Training Material; Crafting educational resources that resonate with and empower young learners.
WP4: Innovative Workshops/Multiplier Events; Planning engaging events that will disseminate knowledge and stimulate interest in Generative AI.
WP5: GenAI Learning Platform and Dissemination; Developing an accessible online platform that will serve as a hub for learning and interaction about Generative AI.
The enthusiasm and commitment displayed by all partners at the kick-off meeting promise a dynamic path forward for the GenAI project. As we proceed, the focus will be on developing training materials and planning the workshops that will bring Generative AI skills directly to the fingertips of young Europeans.
With the successful kick-off of the GenAI project, we are one step closer to transforming how the next generation interacts with technology. This initiative not only prepares them for a digital future but also ensures they are equipped to shape it.
