The Greek Energy Forum in collaboration with the American College of Thessaloniki (A.C.T) hosted the 2nd “Energy Union Future Leaders” Academy within the regional landscape of Southeastern Europe that took place in Thessaloniki, April 12-14 2019.

The “Energy Union Future Leaders” Academy selected 30 high-calibre university students and young professionals from the Region with proven, genuine interest in Energy and with the potential to stand out in this field in the future.

The objective of this Energy Academy was to educate these promising 30 young individuals on the significance of the European Energy Union and its benefits for the Region as well as highlight the indispensable element of “regionality” in contemporary European energy policy.

This was achieved through targeted lectures on the implementation aspects of the Energy Union, as well as debate sessions, discussions and workshops in each of the programme’s five sessions.

The Academy took place under the auspices of the Vice President of the European Commission responsible for the Energy Union, Maroš Šefčovič.

YET Chairman Mr Vassilis Tsoulis was an invited guest of the Academy. He gave a seminar on EU research funding opportunities and presented practical examples of how a young professional / expert or an organisation can get access to information, networking and EU Projects proposals.
