YET was the Greek partner of the fourth virtual job shadowing of “CoopSkills: Skills Empowerment for Cooperative Business Start-up” Erasmus+ Project. The Project was led by Irecoop Emilia-Romagna, Italy. This fourth virtual job shadowing took place virtually in Greece, between Thessaloniki, Athens, Lamia and Crete.
From 23 to 27 November 2020, the participants (staff of Italian training and supporting bodies) participated in an online program designed and delivered by YET. The aim was for them to discover different examples of business & start-ups support and also to meet with entrepreneurs; All guest speakers shared their experience in relation to support, training and incubator, acceleration, funding of startups etc. There was a particular focus on young people, social entrepreneurship and female entrepreneurship.
The online sessions kicked off with i4G and i4G Pro, co-working / start-up incubators and accelerators, assisting entrepreneurs from the initial idea stage to full operation. The topics of female and youth entrepreneurship were explored during the e-meetings with the Cretan Business Women Association, that supports female business makers through coaching and encouraging the exchange of different skills between generations of business-women and with Orange Grove. Orange Grove is an initiative of the Dutch embassy in Athens which caters to young entrepreneurs, offering training, mentoring and tutoring services to support the birth of new and innovative businesses.
Through the meeting with Stevia Hellas Coop, one of the largest European cooperatives for Stevia cultivation, the participants discussed the issues of environmental sustainability and social impact. Then, it was Found.ation’s turn to meet with our Italian participants. The Found.ation offered a thorough presentation of their incubation and acceleration programs, the tools and evaluation criteria used to select startups to support.
The journey continued with OK!Thess, an important start-up incubator and accelerator based in Thessaloniki. The meeting fostered an interesting discussion on the ways in which to support the cooperative start-ups and support small and medium-sized enterprises. Last but not least were the testimonies of Wise Greece and Alios Tours founders, both socially responsible startups. There was a vivid discussion on coaching, incubation and support for social and sustainable startups.
