Empowering Inclusivity: Kick-Off Meeting for the ENABLE ErasmusPlus Project
We are thrilled to announce the successful commencement of the ENABLE ErasmusPlus project, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing inclusivity and diversity within the manufacturing sector across Romania, Greece, and Serbia. Held online, this meeting marked a significant step forward in harnessing digital tools to support the employment of people with disabilities.
The ENABLE project is driven by a commitment to unlock the potential of individuals with disabilities, providing them with equal access to educational and employment opportunities. This initiative not only aims to foster a more inclusive society but also to enhance the operational capacity and competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector.
Collaborating on this vital initiative are INTELIFORM from Romania, Helix Connect from Serbia and YET from Greece. Each partner brings unique expertise and insights, essential for driving the project towards its goals.
The kick-off meeting focused intensely on the project deliverables, structured around three main objectives:
- Enhancing SME Capability: Through digital tools like speech-to-text software, Braille displays, voice recognition software, and hands-free navigation interfaces, the project aims to empower SMEs to support employees with disabilities effectively. This objective will be pursued through three work-based learning sessions and teaching factories, which will showcase digital solutions and train SME managers in their implementation.
- Education and Certification: The project targets to equip and certify at least 100 learners, including SME managers and employees, enhancing their skills to support a diverse workforce.
- Policy Development and Engagement: Development of three policy briefings aimed at better supporting employees with disabilities in manufacturing is a key goal. Additionally, the project will organize three policy roundtables with local authorities to advocate for enhanced access to supportive technologies in manufacturing SMEs.
ENABLE project is set to make significant impacts, with structured plans for training sessions, policy engagement, and the direct involvement of SMEs and local authorities. As we move forward, the dedication of our partners and their collaborative efforts will be instrumental in realizing the ambitions of this initiative.
