Remembering the Past – Building the Futureproject aimed at the exchange of national perspectives on the war and the participating countries’ involvement in the war in order to gather different national perspectives on war-commemoration, the impact of war and the role of the war in identity-building. Finally, to assure a transnational cultural understanding and shaping the idea of EU citizenship.

YET, through a partnership with Katart-e _ Art & Technology Lab and with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Fine Arts School, organized a dedicated exhibition, “Between Land & Sky”, at Action Field Kodra. The exhibition presented works of students of the Thessaloniki Fine Arts School and the Faculty of Fine Arts, University Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Skopje and was curated by Katart-e.

Also, a day conference was hosted, with lectures and presentations based on the aftermath of WWII and the role of art during the war as well as the effect of WWII on the arts.

Also, we had the chance to participate as part of the project at the Commemoration March: “Thessaloniki-Auschwitz. Never again”. The march was organised by the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki and marked the 73rd anniversary of the first deportations of Thessaloniki’s Jews to Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp.

Finally, the exhibition “Vanishing Point” held at at Alatza Imaret, featured an artistic dialogue between audiovisual material of the Historical Archive of Refugees of the Municipality of Kalamaria (IAPE).

The project was funded by the EU through Europe For Citizens program.
